Notices in the Header

The wide space in the middle of the header carries the one thing you may need to know on any page: a notice from the operator, or a regulatory clock that is running on one of your incidents. It is on every page and stays in view as you scroll. Click it to open the full list.

Kinds of notice

  • Info — a notice such as a planned maintenance window. It reads blue. You can dismiss it for yourself from the sheet, and it ends on its own schedule.
  • Alert — urgent, and red. An alert cannot be dismissed while it runs; it clears when whatever raised it is over.

When more than one applies, the header shows the most urgent and a count of the rest. The order is: an alert for your workspace, then an alert for everyone, then a notice for your workspace, then a notice for everyone.

The OSHA reporting countdown

When an incident is flagged as OSHA-reportable — a fatality within eight hours, or an in-patient hospitalization, amputation or loss of an eye within twenty-four — the header shows how long is left to notify OSHA, counting from the moment your workspace learned of the incident. It reads like "2h 14m to notify OSHA (8-hour) · INC-2026-0007", and it opens the incident.

Past the deadline it reads OVERDUE by the time elapsed, and stays until the report is recorded as sent on the incident or the incident is closed. It is the same clock that sends the reminder emails, so the header and the email can never disagree about when a report is due.

Notices for your workspace

A workspace administrator can write a notice for everyone in the workspace from Admin Settings → Workspace Notice: the text, when it starts and when it ends, in UTC. It reads as an info notice, blue, and can be dismissed by each person. It can be ended early from the same card. Workspace notices are never alerts; the red bar comes only from the system's own rules or from the operator.

NRC and state reports

The same countdown covers the other two reports an incident can owe. An incident flagged as an NRC candidate owes its call to the National Response Center within 15 minutes of being flagged, the regulation's "immediately", and the bar counts it down or says how long it has been overdue. A state report candidate uses your workspace's state report window, 24 hours unless an admin set another in Incident Settings. Each clears when the report is recorded as sent on the incident, or when the incident is closed, and the same deadlines feed the Compliance Score.
